Talon Outdoor’s Support Continues

Talon Outdoor’s Support Continues
Sponsorship
Nathalie is extremely proud to champion one of her headline sponsors by proudly wearing their logo on her team kit and newly wrapped car due to be shown for the first time later in the week. Talon Outdoor have supported Nathalie from the beginning of their relationship which started after Nathalie did a talk for the Talon Outdoor staff on behalf of Wings For Life at Talon HQ in 2015. Nathalie loved the Talon work ethic and saw parallels with her own. Innovative, a fantastic attitude towards strong female leadership and the company's charitable generosity gave Nathalie hope that there might be a future partnership between the pair. Talon had featured in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table as one of the top three fastest growing UK companies…

IM Asset Management Announced As Team Sponsor For 2017

IM Asset Management Announced As Team Sponsor For 2017
Sponsorship
Nathalie McGloin Racing is extremely happy to announce that IM Asset Management have come on board as a major sponsor for the 2017 season. The Financial Advisory firm who provide financial advice to claimants of personal injury settlements have taken out one of the sponsorship packages offered by the team and Nathalie can’t wait to start working with the firm. Providing financial advice to people who have received personal injury settlements is an extremely important service to get right. People of all ages and all backgrounds often suffer injuries that result in such settlements. The right investments need to be made with people’s immediate and long term situations considered very carefully and IM Asset Management are absolutely the right firm for this advice. Nathalie is looking forward to working with…

The Edge of Control

The Edge of Control
Racing
For years I've thought of myself as an adrenaline junkie, a thrill seeker, someone who really likes to push the boundaries. Whilst this attitude is extremely useful in other forms of competition, it's very unhelpful in car racing. At university, adrenaline would spike as soon as I sensed any kind of competition and push me to always go one better than my peers. It was an inherent need I’d developed to be the best at all costs. A need to prove that I was still capable of being as reckless and impulsive as my teenage friends despite my spinal injury. During my university years this earned me a bit of an ‘up for anything’ reputation and I wore the badge with pride although it didn’t really help me achieve anything…

Brands Indy Crash Report

Brands Indy Crash Report
Racing
I love the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. My first ever race, my first ever top ten finish and now my first big crash. Despite everything that happened on that test day two weeks ago and dealing with the subsequent fallout, it was still one of my best days to date in my short motorsport career. My instructor Brad and I had made some real progress with my confidence in the build up to this race weekend and I felt really excited about the start of the season. The day started really well and we had a clear plan: to build up confidence and speed during the first three sessions with Brad's instruction and then in the fourth session we were to put on new slicks and I'd see what I…

My Heroes, The Orange Army

My Heroes, The Orange Army
Racing
It's a strange thing to experience your first real crash on a race circuit. That moment that you know the impact is inevitable and there is nothing more you can do is fairly surreal. I was going really well on Friday  consistently lapping in the 53s on old tyres, confidence was high because I was quick. But the point where my wheels locked as the ABS failed, to the moment when I hit the barrier seemed to last forever. I remember thinking 'this is going to hurt'. And it did. A lot. I hit the wall pretty hard at around 70mph. The first thing I did after the car stopped moving was check I could still move my arms and fingers, which were all working fine. But then came the…

Let’s Do This!

Let’s Do This!
Racing
It's Thursday afternoon and I can't quite believe it's almost time to go racing again! This weekend sees the opening round of The Porsche Club Championship at Brands Hatch Indy. I'll be racing on Saturday at 12.20pm and 5.10pm with qualifying starting at 9am. I feel ready. With my new lighter steering, I really believe I can make a mark on the championship this season. Testing has been limited and problematic in the build up to this race but the last test session I had at Silverstone has shown some real promise. I feel like we're starting from a blank canvas and that Silverstone test day was day one. I love the Brands Indy Circuit, my first ever race, my highest ever finish and a circuit that taught me never…

I’ve joined the Batec Rapid Team!

I’ve joined the Batec Rapid Team!
Sponsorship
Today I became the lastest member of Batec Team Rapid. I was asked to join the team last year and today was my official inauguration. Taking to the Silverstone tarmac, I tested my new Batec Quad Rapid with Stuart from Cyclone Mobility who is the UK distributer for Batec. Basically, the Batec bike is an electric hand bike that attaches to the front of your wheelchair effectively turning you into a three wheeled 30kph rocket! What is so brilliant about this bike is not only that it is rapid (as the name suggests!) but they do a version specifically designed for quadriplegics (people who have broken their neck and the paralysis affects their fingers), 'In Kawasaki green, the BATEC QUAD RAPID handbike features exclusive components like carbon-fibre handlebars. But what will undoubted…

OpenTrack partner with Nathalie McGloin Racing for 2017

OpenTrack partner with Nathalie McGloin Racing for 2017
Sponsorship
I'm absolutely delighted to announce that OpenTrack have come on board as team sponsors for 2017. Dave is a good friend ours and a big supporter of mine and I'm very grateful for his generosity and support. OpenTrack track days are a perfect arena for me to get some seat time in the Cayman which is a big cost to my racing budget over the course of a season. Dave's generous sponsorship will allow me to get some great quality practice in this season which I wouldn't have otherwise been able to do. Yesterday saw the start of this relationship as I took the Cayman to OpenTrack's first Silverstone GP day of the season. If you haven't been on an OpenTrack day, check out their shiny new website and see what…

Milltek come on board as team sponsor for 2017

Milltek come on board as team sponsor for 2017
Sponsorship
I'm extremely pleased to welcome Milltek Motorsport on board as a 2017 team sponsor. The Cayman has just been fitted with the Milltek non-resonated cat-back system with ceramic black tips and it sounds incredible! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SHMypiZOvA The Cayman has always lacked somewhat in the sound department. In the car, it's as loud as anything with the stripped out interior and the engine sitting right behind your head but all you used to be able to hear outside the car was the induction. The new Milltek exhaust has properly made the flat six soundtrack come to life! It's deep, loud and has a decent amount of crackle and pops. I love the sound of the overrun and I cannot wait to test my new exhaust at Silverstone on Saturday. I picked the…

Filming for GQ at Silverstone

Filming for GQ at Silverstone
Racing
This week was fairly exciting as I braved the freezing temperatures to do some filming for GQ at Silverstone with Porsche. GQ wanted to do a series of 'how to' videos, one of which they wanted to feature women instructing the predominantly male GQ readership how to perform advanced driving skills and techniques on a race circuit. Porsche would be the featured brand in these videos and I was approached by Porsche HQ to represent them in my Cayman S race car alongside Esmee Hawkey in her Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The day started early at the Porsche Experience Centre as the fog lingered across the circuit and frost remained hard on the ground. It was cold! After being fed bacon rolls at the PEC, which were obviously delicious, we headed across…
